Viper is a premier Controller agent, possessing the unique ability to slice wide-open maps in half using her signature Toxic Screen. On maps like Breeze and Bind, standard dome smokes (from Omen or Brimstone) are often insufficient because the bomb sites are too large. Understanding Viper's smoke setups and post-plant snake bite lineups is crucial for securing rounds on both offense and defense.
Breeze: Slicing the A and B Sites
Breeze is the largest map in the active Valorant pool, making Viper a mandatory selection. On A-site offense, stand at the corner of A-Canyon and align your Toxic Screen so it cuts through both A-Pyramids and blocks off A-Bridge, A-Tunnel, and A-Halls. On B-site, aim your wall to partition the back-site, blocking off B-Tunnel and B-Arches. This forces defenders to play in close, uncomfortable angles, allowing your team to plant the Spike safely.
Bind: B-Short and A-Bath Screens
Bind features narrow choke points but open bomb sites. On A-site offense, Viper's wall should block off A-Tower (Heaven) and A-Screens, while her Poison Cloud orb blocks off A-Short. On B-site, a toxic wall cutting from Hookah to the back-site blocks off Elbow and B-Hall. This forces defenders to retake through narrow doorways, giving your post-plant team a massive crossfire advantage.
Post-Plant Molly Lineups
Viper's Snake Bite molly applies a 'Vulnerable' status effect, doubling all incoming damage to affected players. By memorizing precise throw spots (e.g. standing in B-Main and aiming at specific clouds or roof nodes), you can launch Snake Bites from complete safety directly onto the planted Spike. Combining a Poison Cloud orb (decaying the defuser's health) with a Snake Bite is a guaranteed, round-winning damage combo that prevents the opponent from defusing the Spike.
